Becoming a driving instructor is a fantastic career move for the right person! There is plenty of work out there for driving instructors and this will continue well into the future. It's an enjoyable job where you will be teaching the next generation of drivers to be safe and responsible and you will make a difference by improving road safety. It's a flexible career that will give you a lot of job satisfaction. It's a brilliant feeling when a learner driver who knew nothing about driving when they first started their lessons with you passes their driving test thanks to the tuition you gave them. You've made a real difference to their life and they'll remember you with fondness for ever. There are not many jobs that can give you the same satisfaction as that!

The qualities you need to become a driving instructor are an enjoyment of driving and of meeting different people. You'll need a naturally relaxed, friendly and patient personality with excellent communication skills and the ability to think and react quickly.

To consider becoming a driving instructor you need to have held a full car driving licence for at least four years and you need to be able to read a new style number plate from 27 metres (27.5 metres for the old style).

We  are North Nottinghamshire’s only ORDIT registered driving instructor training company. ORDIT stands for Official Register of Driving Instructor Training. This means we are regularly inspected by the Driving Standards Agency who check we maintain a high standard of driving instructor training. This gives you assurance that you will receive excellent training. We are experts at traning people to become driving instructors. If a company is not on the ORDIT register do not pay them money to train you to become a driving instructor. They are not qualified to do this!

We will train you to become a driving instructor and once qualified can offer you a position on the Sherwood School of Motoring team where you can earn, on average, £25,000 per year. Sherwood School of Motoring needs new driving instructors so if you're interested in a change of career now is a great time to become a driving instructor!!
